Rubem Filho was born in Rio de Janeiro, is a First Deck Officer in the Merchant Navy, Administrator, Master in O&M and post-graduate in Marketing. Throughout his life he has crewed and commanded vessels of various types and sizes in various regions of the world. He lives in Portugal, where he is a pleasure boat operator, consultant and manager of maritime projects, as well as a recreational and professional sailor. He began writing, encouraged by his late wife, as a hobby and rediscovered his passion for reading and writing.
